Introduction

Megaport is a software layer that provides an easy way to create and manage network connections. Through the Megaport network, you can deploy private point-to-point connectivity between any of the locations on Megaport’s global network infrastructure.

The Megaport Network

Megaport operates a global network infrastructure and manages this network through Software Defined Networking (SDN). This network enables fast, flexible, and on-demand connectivity to hundreds of global services with an extensive footprint throughout Asia Pacific, North America, Europe, and the Middle East.

You can use this global network by creating a high-speed interface called a Port (sometimes referred to as a Megaport). By creating a Port, you can create point-to-point connections between any of your own locations or to a connected Cloud Service Provider (CSP). You can also connect to any other service that is connected to the Megaport network.

  • Ports – High-speed Ethernet interfaces (1 Gbps, 10 Gbps, and 100 Gbps) that connect to the Megaport network.
  • Virtual Cross Connect (VXC) – Connection between any two endpoints on the Megaport network. Most connections support capacity ranging from 1 Mbps to 10 Gbps. Within the same metro, some high-capacity ports can support up to 20 Gbps connections.

Configure the Integration

  1. From All Clients, select a client.

  2. Go to Setup > Integrations and Apps. If there are already installed apps, it will redirect to the INSTALLED APPS page where all the installed apps are displayed. Click +ADD and search for the App on the Available apps page.

If there are no installed apps, it will navigate to the AVAILABLE APPS page.

Use the search option available to search for Megaport application. Alternatively, use All Categories dropdown to search. In this case, select Saas Application. All SAAS apps are displayed.
Note: The search option is used to search for apps on a page.

  1. Click ADD under Megaport:

  2. In Add Megaport page, enter account information:

  5. Click Finish.
The application is now installed and displayed on the Installed Integration page. Use the search field to find the installed application.

Next steps

After configuring the integration, Megaport services discovery and monitoring is enabled. Discovered services and metrics can be viewed from the Infrastructure page.

No templates need to be applied on discovered devices. Alerts can be enabled using alert policies.
