Overview

Monitoring is an integral part of protecting websites from spyware or any suspicious activity. Using HTTP Proxy, start monitoring your websites (internal or external) that are accessible using proxy servers using one of the following:

  • Gateway synthetic proxy. To configure a proxy, contact Support.
  • Custom proxy
  • No Proxy

Prerequisite: Gateway version 9.0.0

Supported Synthetics for Proxy Servers

Implement synthetic monitoring using proxy servers for the following synthetic monitors:

  • HTTP/HTTPS
  • SMTP
  • IMAP
  • POP3
  • FTP
  • RTT
  • SSL
  • SCRIPT – HTTP Synthetic Transaction

Proxy Servers Configuration

Select Proxy Configuration to enable proxy settings. Once enabled, select the configuration type:

  • System: Default proxy configuration.
  • Custom: Customize the proxy configuration as per requirements.

Follow the steps below based on the scenarios shown:

System Configuration Type:

  • Select System from the Configuration Type dropdown.
  • No additional configuration is needed.

Custom Configuration Type with No Authentication:

  • Select Custom from the Configuration Type dropdown.
  • Enter the URL in the URL field.
  • Select None from the Proxy Authentication Type dropdown.
  • No need to add a Proxy Credential Set.

Custom Configuration Type with Basic Authentication:

  • Select Custom from the Configuration Type dropdown.
  • Enter the URL in the URL field.
  • Select Basic from the Proxy Authentication Type dropdown.
  • Select a Proxy Credential Set from the dropdown. You can also create new credentials by clicking the ADD button.
