Layers
You can sort a network topology map into layers, which allows you to show and hide the map by layers.
To show/hide the layers:
- Navigate to Infrastructure > Topology Maps.
- Select a device from the drop-down list. The topology explorer is displayed with the base resource you selected and its neighbours including the connections, based on the Depth level.
- Click the Settings icon.
- Select a layer from the available layers. The selected layer is now the active layer. Note: The available layers are L1, L2 and L3.

The enhanced network topology feature provides support for rendering topology maps specifically from Layer 2 (L2) nodes. The L2 topology maps provide visual representations of the network infrastructure, highlighting connections, relationships, and potential areas for optimization or troubleshooting. This capability offers customers greater flexibility in understanding the functionality and interactions of Layer 2 components within their network infrastructure.

To view more information about the Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) and Spanning Tree Protocol (STPs):
Navigate to Infrastructure > Topology Maps.
Select a device from the drop-down list. The topology explorer is displayed with the base resource you selected and its neighbours including the connections, based on the Depth level.
Click the Settings icon.
Select Layer 2.The selected layer is now the active layer.
Enter the Vlan ID.
Click Apply.The screen displays the L2 topology map.
Click the link to view the VLAN and STPs details.
Depth
Depth refers to the level of topology you want to view. When you have many resources across multiple levels, displaying all resources is impractical. Select the level of topology you want to view for a more comprehensible view.
When you first view the topology, all base resources at the hierarchical top-level, Depth 1, are displayed. You can specify view levels up to Depth 3.
